September 27th - "In Search of Lost Trees"

A new Multimedia show by David Newland

We are pleased to be welcoming David Newland back with his latest Multimedia project, “In Search of Lost Trees”, a musical and storytelling performance about renewing relations with trees and forests. The performance will feature songs, stories, and images inspired by a journey with his son Jasper, to Northern Ontario to find the first trees he planted in the summer of 1990. Opening act: Dan Gibson.

 

October 25th - Country Fried Blues

with Al Lerman and Alfie Smith

Enjoy an exciting evening of acoustic blues as we present this special double bill. Al Lerman is considered among the top harmonica players in the country and has won two Juno awards with his band Fathead. Alfie Smith is a popular performer at our concerts with his resonator guitars and powerful baritone voice. They will each perform a set of their own favourite pieces before the sparks fly as they play a set together.

 

December 6th - " A Canadian Christmas"

featuring the fiddle and step dance group The Fitzgeralds

Join us for this special seasonal show featuring the award-winning fiddle and step dance group The Fitzgeralds!  Enjoy an evening of triple fiddle arrangements of holiday favourites, songs and tunes by great Canadian composers, and of course the group’s signature high energy Ottawa-Valley step dancing! Grab your ugliest Christmas sweater and join The Fitzgeralds as they provide a cheerful and truly Canadian soundtrack to your holiday season! Opening act: Carlos Medina.

 

January 24th - Fun Bluegrass band The Tone Rangers

Saddle up and join The Tone Rangers, a ragtag band of troubadours whose songs echo across the vast plains and dusty trails. This fun band consists of top-notch bluegrass stars Andrew Collins, Chris Quinn, Adam Shier and Jame McEleney. From campfire ballads to saloon showdowns, this eclectic posse serenades the frontier with tales of adventure, heartache, and redemption.Opening act: All Hands On Deck..

 

February 21st - “Sounds of Hope”

A “Coldest Night of the Year” Benefit Concert

Please join us for a “Coldest Night of the Year” Benefit Concert inside of Sanderson Hall, to help support Regeneration Outreach Community, a caring community serving people who are experiencing homelessness, precariously housed, or who live in extreme poverty.  Some of the finest members of the Brampton Folk Clubwill be performing short sets to help raise awareness and funds for this very important cause.

 

March 28th - Back by popular demand! Quebec fiddle group Genticorum

We are excited to be welcoming back this high-energy band from Quebec. Their joyful music and charm will get your heart racing and put a smile on your face with tunes on the fiddle and flute, and traditional call and response songs from Quebec. Opening Act: Mike Gauthier.

 

April 25th - “Songs, Stories and Harmonies”

with Jory Nash and Kennedy Road

It’ll be a fun reunion of old friends at this special double bill, as we welcome them all back to our stage.  Jory Nash is an award-winning singer-songwriter and storyteller who blends elements of folk, jazz, blues, pop & soul into an original stew of sound. Kennedy Road is a Toronto-based duo, consisting of Sheila Carabine from the Juno nominated group Dala, and multi-instrumentalist and native Bramptonian Brian MacMillan. Jory and Kennedy Road will each perform a set on their own before joining each other onstage together for a special magical set.

 

May 24th - Brampton Folk Club Annual Showcase Concert (Saturday concert)

This event features a wide variety of music and numerous members of the Brampton Folk Club playing plenty of familiar and original songs. This fundraising concert helps finance the club’s participation in many community events. (Note: This is a Saturday evening concert.)
